The Mexican American Political Association(MAPA) and Hermandad Mexicana Latinoamericana join the call made by the National Day Labor Organizing Network (NDLON), the National Latino Congreso, and the Southern California Immigration Coalition (SCIC) to call on the Lakers organization to add Los Lakers to their name to demonstrate their support for the good people of Arizona and oppose SB1070 similar to the Suns basketball initiative last week.

“We call on youth, workers, immigrants, sports fans, and the community to join us on the picket-line at the Staples Center to call on the Lakers to do the right thing and for Phil Jackson to be with us on this issue. The good people of Arizona need him to be a good fan,” declared Nativo V. Lopez, National President of MAPA and HML.

The informational picketline will occur on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles at 5:00 p.m.

Oh, that Nativo

by hrearden76 Saturday, May. 22, 2010 at 9:48 AM

Since when is Nativo or any of his ilk Laker fans? Stand with the fans? What is THAT supposed to mean?

You folks should really not put the ultra crooked Nativo up as any kind of authority on anything. He makes anyone associated with him look bad.
