The Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP) wrapped up its successful relief and fund drive to help the victims of the successive floods in the Philippines. The relief drive commenced on September 27, 2009 and ended in December 31, 2009. According to the AJLPP national secretariat based in Los Angeles the fund drive netted a total amount of $ 12, 649. 43 from voluntary contributions and 234 Balikbayan boxes send to two non-profit agencies in the Philippines. .

AJLPP Wraps Up STP Relief Drive, 2009, Gains , 649.43

Los Angeles— The Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP) wrapped up its successful relief and fund drive to help the victims of the successive floods in the Philippines. The relief drive commenced on September 27, 2009 and ended in December 31, 2009.

According to the AJLPP national secretariat based in Los Angeles the fund drive netted a total amount of $ 12, 649. 43 from voluntary contributions and 234 Balikbayan boxes send to two non-profit agencies in the Philippines. .

The financial aid and relief gods were all sent to the Philipines to the Ang Kalusugan para sa Pinoy (AKAP) based in Quezon City and Kalinga-Obrero in Caloocan City and ANAKPAWIS.

632 Balikbayan Boxes Sent

According to the STP, a total of 632 boxes were sent to the flood victims from October 3 to December 31, 2009. Initially, From September 27 to October 3, in cooperation with the Manny Pacquiao Foundation and Search to Involve the Pilipino Americans (SIPA), the STP collected more than 350 boxes that was sent to the Philippines. Another 58 boxes from the Gab-Net-LA was also sent to the Philippines.

The collections was made possible with the collaboration with non-profit agencies like People’s CORE in Los Angeles and Damayan Migrants Association in New York.

The Kabataang Makabayan (Pro People Youth), Ugnayan-NY/NJ, Gabnet-LA, Ecumenical Fellowship for Justice and Peace (EFJP), Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV), EPCC, Samahang Pilipino at UCLA, UC Fullerton, USC Troy Phi, LAANE, Office of Councilman Eric Garcetti District 13, BEATROCK, St Matthew’s Church, San Diego KmB, ANSWER-LA are some of the organizations that supported the fund and relief drive,
