The Kilusang Dekada 70 (KD70) vehemently condemns the US Department of Defense and the Heritage Foundation think-tank for meddling in the coming presidential elections in the Philippines on May 2010. The United States by propping up the presidential ambitions of Arroyo’s heir apparent Philippine defense secretary Gilberto Teodoro and giving him the necessary propaganda mileage during his visit in Washington DC and other states, is making the notion that Teodoro is the US “anointed one”. Teodoro is deliberately toeing the US line against terrorism and profess loyalty to the “US War Against Terror in Asia.”

REJECT US PUPPETS AND HIRELINGS IN THE COMING PHILIPPINE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN MAY 2010
San Francisco-- –United States intervention in the Philippines knows no bound.
The Kilusang Dekada 70 (KD70) vehemently condemns the US Department of Defense and the Heritage Foundation think-tank for meddling in the coming presidential elections in the Philippines on May 2010.
The United States by propping up the presidential ambitions of Arroyo’s heir apparent Philippine defense secretary Gilberto Teodoro and giving him the necessary propaganda mileage during his visit in Washington DC and other states, is making the notion that Teodoro is the US “anointed one”.
Teodoro is deliberately toeing the US line against terrorism and profess loyalty to the “US War Against Terror in Asia.”
The US is reviving its promotion of former Philippine defense secretary Ramon Magsaysay in the 1950’s and made him as the president of the Philippines. But in the process, the US is resurrecting the Aquino-Cojuanco rivalry in politics but this time on a national scale. In the early 1960’s Peping Cojuanco and Ninoy Aquino has a deep political rivalry with Danding Cojunco in Tarlac and in the national politics with Cojuanco siding with dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
Tasks for the Present
The Kilusang Dekada 70 (KD70) calls on the Filipino people and the Filipino American community not to fall with the US political machinations pitting Teodoro against Senator Noynoy Aquino.
When we remember the US machinations that made our motherland so poor and so dependent to US foreign and economic policies, we should fight US intervention in all its forms most especially in this coming elections.
We forget those who died, suffer and fought the martial law regime and not the personalities that gained prominence because of it.
We should not forget that it was the sacrifices of the whole nation that brought down the dictatorship and not only the Aquinos that made it possible. Let us clearly see the forest, not only the few giant trees that grew out of it. We must reject US puppets and all their hirelings.
Then and only then, when freedom will be worth dying for and the sacrifices of the many will be in vain.
