The Filipino American community led by the Parish Community of St. Columban Church will hold a memorial mass for President Cory Aquino on the feast of transfiguration on Thursday, 7:00PM - August 6, 2009 at the St. Columban Filipino Church at 125 S. Loma Drive, Los Angeles, CA, 90026 in Historic Filipinotown. The endorsing organizations for the memorial mass are the Bangon Pilipino,Bangon Pilipinas, Confederation of Filipino American Organizations (CONFAA)-Carson, Council of Fil-Am Leaders of Southern California, Echo Park Community Coalition (EPCC), Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA), Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV), Parish Generation Choir of St. Columban and Search to Involve the Pilipino Americans (SIPA).

FILIPINO -AMERICAN COMMUNITY HOLDS MEMORIAL MASS FOR PHILIPPINE PRESIDENT CORY AQUINO ON AUG 6 AT ST. COLUMBAN FILIPINO CHURCH, LOS ANGELES

Los Angeles-- The Filipino American community led by the Parish Community of St. Columban Church will hold a memorial mass for President Cory Aquino on the feast of transfiguration on Thursday, 7:00PM - August 6, 2009 at the St. Columban Filipino Church at 125 S. Loma Drive, Los Angeles, CA, 90026 in Historic Filipinotown.

The endorsing organizations for the memorial mass are the Bangon Pilipino,Bangon Pilipinas, Confederation of Filipino American Organizations (CONFAA)-Carson, Council of Fil-Am Leaders of Southern California, Echo Park Community Coalition (EPCC), Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA), Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV), Parish Generation Choir of St. Columban and Search to Involve the Pilipino Americans (SIPA).

Vice Consul Daniel Espiritu of the Philippine Consulate and Congressman Herminigildo Mandanas of Batangas are expected to attend. Other Los Angeles City officials were also invited.

Prayers were said today, Aug 4 at the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (HPMC) in Vermont Ave. at 12:30 PM. Another memorial mass will be held in the evening at St. Basil Church, Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, 90010 led by the Philippine Consulate to be officiated by Bishop Oscar Solis at 6:00PM

Other organizations and individuals are likewise enjoined to endorse and come to the memorial mass. The endorsers call on all participants to wear white or black.
