JUSTICE FOR ANNETTE GARCIA: Brown Berets
to lead march against the Riverside County Sheriffs

The Brown Berets de Aztlan and supporting organizations have announced two actions on behalf of member Annette Garcia who was shot in the back by a Riverside County Sheriff''s deputy on January 21st. Annette Garcia was a member of the Perris Unit and was the mother of three children. She died in the presence of her children and in the arms of her husband. (Please read our report at

On Thursday January 29, 2009 at 5 pm there will be a Candlelight Vigil at the Cesar Chavez Center located at the Bobby Bonds Park at 2060 University Ave in Riverside, CA (See location #1 on map below). After the vigil there will be a march to the headquarters of the Riverside County Sheriff's at 4095 Lemon Street Riverside, CA (Location #2 on map below).

On Saturday January 31st, 2009 there will be a Rally at the CesarChavez Center at 10 am and a Press Conference at 1 pm. After the Press Conference, the Brown Berets de Aztlan will lead a second march to the headquarters of the Riverside County Sheriff's.

All units throughout Aztlan are encouraged to participate. Bring your flags and be in uniform. All communities who have been victims of police brutality are invited to participate, especially tribal members of the Riverside County Soboba Indian Reservation.
