In the "Creole trick," the perpetrator pretends to be the victim. Cheney sits in a wheelchair and the war profiteering is repressed. The trillion war (cf. Joseph Stiglitz' book) is a theft of the present and future that reduced American stature to a rogue state.

Since the start of the Iraq War, Halliburton and their former subsidiary Kellogg, Brown and Root have come under fire for receiving billions of dollars in no-bid contracts, and then failing to perform their duties adequately. And now they're facing a major lawsuit for some of these shoddy services, most notably for providing tainted supplies of food and water to American troops serving in Iraq.
