Two day's before President Barack Obama's inauguration, groups and individuals led by World Can't Wait and others staged a protest outside of the Lake Forest, California location of Rick Warren's Saddelback Church.

The group was of moderate size and the police presence was in evidence but not at all confrontational. The protesters were diverse in faith, age and sexuality . Families of all combinations were out in force.
The demonstration was organized in opposition to some specific actions and policies of the Saddelback ministry.
Warren had campaigned heavily for the passing of Proposition 8 which nullified gay marriage in California.
His Church is also cited for not allowing gays to join the Saddelback congregation.

Rick Warren is also accused of lending support to a Ugandan minister who published the names and address's of Ugandan gays.
Dr. Martin Ssempa, the pastor at Makerere Community Church in Kampala, Uganda is also accused of organizing anti-gay riots in the capitol. Uganda has outlawed homosexuality and the government aggressively condemns gays and lesbians.

In addition Warren has likened homosexuality to pedophilia in taped interviews.

His church also supports abstinence only programs in AIDS ravaged Africa while also discouraging condom distribution programs in that continent.

The protest ended peacefully in the California sun at 2:00 in the afternoon.
