Open Call for the Gaza Protest: Break Away March to the Consulate

by Yes We Will Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009 at 3:59 AM

ANSWER and the police plan to march everyone around in a circle tomorrow. Don’t let it be just another police controlled event.

Don’t follow the permit route. We need real protest now. No more permit parades! Let’s take the street and march!

People get hurt, arrested, and generally cause more drama than warranted during break away marches. Respect the organizers and recognize that posts like this are often written by saboteurs.

As with anything, intelligence should precede passion.

Saboteur Not. Just sick of the same old thing

It’s the organizers that sabotage the protest in advance by working with the police. Permit parades are not real protests. A protest is when you do something in protest. When you do something without approval. To ask for a permit to protest is absurd.

These organizations have been staging these police supervised parades for years and what to we have to show for it. Nothing. It’s clearly not working. Time for a change. Time for a new generation to initiate protests. Time for new tactics.

By the way it’s always the police that cause problems, not the break way march. Has with all the violence that ever happens at protests it’s always the police who are violent.

Sorry to report that everything went has planned and no real protest occurred today. Although about 2,000 to 3,000 people came and marched around in a circle in Westwood. Only one person was observed engaging in any real protest.

This person was quickly arrested for hanging a banner from a stop light.
