Prop 8 Rally in the Hood - Crenshaw Blvd, Leimark Park, Los Aneles, CA - Nov 23, 2008 - composite picture On Sunday, November 23, I joined my African American brothers and sisters in the Crenshaw District to demand Equal Rights for all and to protest the passage of Prop 8 in California. This was an invigorating and wonderful opportunity to counter the ultra right's assertation (and some of the media reporting) that the African American community does not support the equal rights for GLBT people. We marched up Crenshaw Blvd and then gathered back in Leimark Park to hear the Reverend Freda address the crowd and cheer us on in the continuing fight for the dignity and happiness of all people. As a member of the white GLBT community, I was so happy to add my voice to the assembly of diversity and to demonstrate we are all united in this cause. Please check out my Blog post at: My views on the Rally for more of my thoughts and some additional pictures. I have also postd to short video clips (one of the march down Crenshaw Blvd and one of Rev Freda addressing the crowd).

I am so proud of our community - Black, Brown and White, GLBT and Straight - The People UNITED, Can Never be Defeated!
