KPFK is being maneuvered into some dangerous areas where it's building may be sold to save some other station's problems? huh ?
No BAIL OUTS TO PACIFICA, or banks, or other financially deficiently run corps or instutitions !!!!
Another coup de estacion ?
another take-over, of what is not negotiable by the local KPFK funders !
The plans must have been made long enough ago and never announced, discussed, make-openly-available as INFORMATION for participative debate.
No openness.
No honesty, obviously.
No transparency.
No willingness to have any KPFK subscribers' input.
No WAY !
this is not the way out of other station's financial difficulties, whatever they may be or however they got into debt or loss...we dont know and are not informed nor given anything but what sounds like a quick ultimatum by those who ASSUME they hold the power to TAKE .... whatever They Decide. harupmph!
just like Paulson's taking our tax money for his chosen bail outs...sounds just the same...with the same sudden FEARMONGERING last-minute 'news' of
"the world will fall in upon YOU if you dont do what we demand, right now !"

maybe Pacifica is going defunct and KPFK needs to separate itself out as the last surviving [financially debilitated but not yet all-debt-eaten-up] child.
