Uploaded in two parts is a phone interview with Ted Forsyth, an independent journalist with Rochester Indymedia, who was there at the scene and saw it all. In part one Ted tells of the police attack and the events that lead up to the attack. In part two he tells of the conditions at the detention center where those arrested were held. And the support that fellow activists were able to provide to their friends and comrades who were victimized by the police.

The convention is over in Denver and now all eyes turn to St. Paul. Protests have already begun in the Twin Cities and there are concerns that police violence on peaceful demonstrations will occur in the Twin Cites as it did this week in Denver.

Monday night in Denver saw police violence and mass arrests of peaceful protesters near the Civic Center Park. Hundreds were penned in by police and about 100 arrests were made. Police used pepper spray and fired pepper balls into the demonstration. Despite reports by corporate media outlets that the police were responding to “rocks and missiles” thrown at them no evidence of this has surfaced to date. Testimony from eye witnesses at the scene and video of the event tell a different story.
