First in a series of short dispatches from the streets of Denver filed by LA-IMC reporters covering the convention.
Dispatch #1
Friday, 6:30 p.m. - At the convention center observed construction workers placing heavy fences over 6 feet high all around the convention center.
Friday 11:15 PM – On I-70 eastbound saw a motorcade of 5 or 6 buses escorted by 5 police cars with their alert lights on. Probably a batch of convention VIP.
Saturday, 8 AM - This morning I saw that they had finished the work [on the convention fence] and it's fenced all around.
Saturday, 9:40 am - All quiet in downtown Denver, but I am sure it’s gonna be a zoo soon.
