Cal General Strike Needed to Tax Rich

Millionaire Nazi Schwarzenegger, the Republican California governor married to Democrat Maria Shriver, wants to lower 200,000 state workers' wages to the state minimum of $6.75 per hour and fire all temporary and part-time employees to balance the budget, instead of raising the progressive income tax on those who make over $200,000 from all sources. Labor must respond with a statewide general strike of all state workers, In one day, the rich will be taxed and the budget will be passed.

The labor unions so far are singing the company tune of a long dragged out scene in the expensive court system, where nothing good is received by the workingclass. This is because they are tied to the capitalist Democratic Party, the same as the capitalist Republican Party. Plese note that a Democrat-Republican mixed marriage was also the case of Schwarzenegger's predecessor, Democrat Gray Davis, who was married to a Republican. They know there is not a dime's worth of difference between these twin parties of capitalism.

The Democrats have yet to put on the November ballot the urgently needed initiative to allow California's budget to be pased with a simply majority, as exists in most states, rather than the 2/3 majority. This is a sign of a dead party. We can only wonder if the Democrats paid Schwarzenegger to put forth this viciously anti-labor proposal to make the Democrats look good.

If you have had enough of the stench of capitalism, you must support the socialist party on your ballot, the Peace & Freedom Party. We have no more time for this nightmare. Things can no longer go on in the old way; we must have top quality free education and medical and dental care for all, paid for with our tax dollars, as well as top quality free public transportation, low rent, top quality housing for all, secure retirement income for all people over age 60, immediate abolition of prisons and the death penalty, immediate rehabilitation of all prisoners so that they are part of the labor force working at decent paying jobs within 5 years or less if under age 60 and receive a decent pension if over age 60, a minimum wage of $25 per hour and all other social services required by the workingclass, those of us who sell our labor for less than $76,000 a year. This mandates eliminating the profit motive, the primary goal of capitalism being to maximize profits.

Here is the introduction to the platform of the Peace & Freedom Party:

"The Peace and Freedom Party, founded in 1967, is committed to socialism, democracy, ecology, feminism and racial equality. We represent the working class, those without capital in a capitalist society. We organize toward a world where cooperation replaces competition, a world where all people are well fed, clothed and housed; where all women and men have equal status; where all individuals may freely endeavor to fulfill their own talents and desires; a world of freedom and peace where every community retains its cultural integrity and lives with all others in harmony."
