STOP THE DOWNTOWN MINUTEKLAN MARCH! PUSH THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN AGAINST BUSH/MCCAIN!



the minuteklan & cohorts have lapd permit to march thru downtown l.a. saturday, from broadway & olympic at 10am to city hall.



their stated objective is to overturn lapd special order 40, which restricts local police from, gestapo-style, running up on residents to interrogate them exclusively about their residency status, nationality, &c.



specifically these white supremacists are maneuvering to invent & exacerbate conflicts in los angeles between brown and black residents, who otherwise generally live, work, struggle and play peacefully side by side. the broadway corridor is a thriving raza commercial district & is intentionally being targeted for intimidation.

we do not want this type of poision anywhere near our homes or communities. it is fed surreptiously by some in power & law enforcement to fan racist/jingoistic animosity, and to divert meaningful discussion/attention away from real sources of social ills e.g. poverty, crime, employment, education, war,,,



the best way to drive this cowardice out of our town is to meet it head on, with a positive message that squarely addresses the questions of the day.

the drift toward fascism is always marked by the isolation & attack on the weakest sector of the community, in our case undocumented immigrants. don't stand aside & say it doesn't concern you! wake up early on saturday, get to olympic & broadway at 10am sharp! & show an unmistakable demonstration of community solidarity.
