Outrage in 23rd Senate District Over Last Minute Fran Pavley Mailer

Fran's last mailer includes a picture of Henry Waxman on the outside but on the inside, she is happily smiling, shaking hands and being congratulated By Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger

Voters in the 23 California Senate District formerly represented by one of Calliphorine's great contemporary Senators, Sheila Kuehl, have endured one mailer after another from candidates Fran Pavley and Lloyd Levine. Each proved the other to be a complete political whore beholden to Sacramento money interests. But with only two choices, residents have no alternatives.

In her last brochure, arriving in many mail boxes on election day, Fran's brochure has, on the front, a picture of the always smiling Henry Waxman saying, "Fran Pavley is smart, effective, and tenacious."

However, when the reader opens it and looks at the third picture from the top on the left hand side, Fran Pavley was smiling and thrilled, as if she were at her high school prom, while she was being congratulated by arch Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

With this picture, Fran sent a message to conservative elements in the district that she too accepted the conservative economic values of Schwarzeneggerism. Fran has sent this message to these people before with her opposition to the Sheila Kuehl's S.B. 840 single payer health bill and acceptance of EdVote Republican money.

Pavley supporters have argued locally that Pavley is a true Democrat, denied her economic conservatism, and support of Republican values. The picture of her and Schwarzenegger, however, leaves no doubt that her values are with him, and not with those of ordinary Democratic working people in the 23 district.

This picture was a smoking gun. Delaying it until the last minute, kept it out of the debate.

Knowledgeable sources said Waxman would never have consented to use of his picture on a brochure including Schwarzenegger.
