Activists gathered in Santa Monica at Reed Park and walked silently through downtown Santa Monica and ended at sunset at the Arlington West Memorial. We handed out 400 flyers to shoppers and tourists explaining our opposition to the war. Most of the walk though the Promonade a small group of young ex-military men were harrassing our walkers, saying we were wrong and the war is good. There was no violence except for verbal insults from their side, We counted 98 walkers at one point. The sun was setting in a glorious fashion as we walked down the pier to the display of crosses at Arlington West.
