Real change made by the people!

A recent government report announced that the U.S. wars on Iraq and Afghanistan could cost $2.4 trillion over the next decade. The Bush budget allots more money for war than ever before--almost $800 billion. The real cost of the war is much higher in dollars and human lives. Nearly 4,000 U.S. troops and over 1 million Iraqis have died since the March 2003 invasion. All of the money directed toward killing people should instead fund jobs, education, health care, Social Security and housing for everyone. Not one more person should die in this war based on lies.

A huge demonstration in LA on March 15 will send a strong message to the warmakers--the people demand an immediate end to the war. It will also continue to galvanize people to play an increasingly active role in the anti-war movement. We don't want another five years of war and occupation. Join the anti-war movement today. Only a powerful, independent people's movement can stop the war!

After marching and chanting at the March 15 mass protest in Hollywood, come to a live performance of the multi-media piece "Proving Ground" by award-winning leftist filmmaker Travis Wilkerson and LA-based death folk band Los Duggans. Wilkerson and Los Duggans will be performing part of "Proving Ground" at the protest and then performing the entire piece at the nearby Paul Gleason Theater.

Wilkerson's best-known work is an agit-prop essay on the lynching of Wobbly Frank Little called "An Injury to One" (2002). His fiction debut, "Who Killed Cock Robin?" (2005) was one of the most divisive films in the history of the Sundance Film Festival's Dramatic Competition. He is an organizer for the ANSWER Coalition and a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.

Wilkerson's latest work, "Proving Ground," was performed at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival where it shocked and educated audiences about the horrors of U.S. imperialist aerial bombardment--from Germany to Vietnam to Iraq.

Performance presented by Artillery Magazine.
