Come together with many thousands of people in Los Angeles on October 27 to protest the war on Iraq. There will be a march, and rally, live music and much more. Oct. 27 will be an important step forward for the anti-war/peace movement in Southern California. We urge all people to come to Los Angeles for the biggest possible regional action to stop the war.

The plan for October 27: Assemble 12 noon at Olympic and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. We'll have a few brief opening speakers and music, and then we'll march through the busy streets of downtown Los Angeles (about 1.5 miles) to the downtown federal building (NOTE: downtown, not the Westwood federal building) for a major rally. Click here for a march route flyer.

At the beginning of the rally, there will be a mass symbolic "Die-In" to illustrate visually the impact of the war on Iraqis and U.S. soldiers. The Die-In will take place in a legally permitted area of the march. It will be led by veterans and military families. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

The march and rally are fully permitted. More than 400 additional organizations and individuals have endorsed the Los Angeles protest. Detailed logistical information for the Oct. 27 protest in Los Angeles can be found by clicking here.

This Los Angeles march was initiated by the ANSWER Coalition. It is being built by the ad hoc Oct. 27 Stop the War Coalition. Click here for a list of coalition members.

The Global Women’s Strike is a member of the Oct. 27 Stop the War Coalition. Margaret Prescod of Women of Color in the Global Women’s Strike is one of the speakers. See you Saturday!
