“The Buddha taught that there is no absolute set of rules for right and wrong,” says Rinpoche. “Instead, people have the opportunity to pay closer attention to the consequences of our actions, thoughts and words. Through the clarity born in meditation, people learn what to accept and what to reject.”
His Eminence Zurmang Gharwang Rinpoche is a master in the Zurmang (Surmang) Karma Kagyü lineage, with which the Shambhala community shares a close connection. The current and previous Gharwang Rinpoches have been instrumental in preserving and promoting the lineage of the Zurmang Kagyü in Tibet and around the world.
