Bradley Whitford ("The West Wing") premieres YouTube video condemning the "Dirty Trick Initiative" in California

Today, Courage Campaign launched NoDirtyTricks.com, with an online video by Bradley Whitford, underscoring the importance of defeating the so-called Presidential Election Reform Act.

Whitford, a classically trained and highly acclaimed actor, is an icon in progressive circles for his Emmy Award-winning portrayal of "Josh Lyman" on The West Wing long-running television series.

In a nearly two-minute video posted on YouTube, Whitford expressed the consequences if PERA passes.

"I don't know about you, but my children cannot afford another Republican president," Whitford said.

Whitford penned the script himself, which was filmed at his house. Surrounded by his children's toys and books, Whitford's words were all the more poignant.

The Presidential Reform Act is a ballot initiative currently in circulation in California. If it qualifies and is passed on the primary election ballot in June 2008, it will have result in at least twenty electoral college votes being given to the Republicans -- as many as Ohio.

"This is not democracy. It is simply another in a long line of right-wing dirty tricks designed to steal the White House," said Courage Campaign chair and founder Rick Jacobs.

"NoDirtyTricks.com is the primary vehicle to educate and engage the netroots and grassroots communities about this partisan power grab."

"NoDirtyTricks.com is a dynamic web site that includes YouTube videos, nearly every newspaper article and blog post on this cynical scheme, and an impressive list of national leaders and bloggers endorsing "NoDirtyTricks.com.
