If we had a report about the Leimert Park Protest for the Jena 6 on the newswire, it would have been promoted to the front page.
Thank you for posting.

There's fair justice, and there's injustice. Fair justice would have been to try the children as a children, for a charge of assault, which is what they did. It was not attempted murder.
Given the antagonistic social situation there in Jena, the charge could have been mitigated a little bit. Instead the justice system was intent on issuing severe punishment based, largely, on the fact that the assailants were Black.

Like I said, BushCo wants to devide America by race so they can't be united in standing up to the real threat to all Americans.
You say, because they were black; I say, because BushCO wants America devided and race lines are easy to exploit as there is already a venue ("justice" sysytem) to use.
From what I have learned, you are right, attempted murder is not shown or even indicated in the attack. So who screwed up filing those charges??? And was it a screw up or a planned action if BushCo influenced those charges to devide Americans???

All content on the newswire and the front page is user provided. It is a local community based newswire. If no one posts an article or uploads material from a local event the LA-IMC editorial staff has no material to put on the front page.
If you have a report that is newsworthy and well written with photos of the recent Jena 6 rally here in Los Angeles please post that material to the newswire.
I'm sure the LA-IMC staff would love to put it on the front page .

BushCo has nothing to do with that, except that they're racists too.
What's so damned confusing about racism? It was the NORM is America for most of its history.... and by NORM I mean that it was enshrined in the law. It was, and still is, embedded in the culture to this day.
Integration and harmony between races is still a "new thing" for this country, and for most nations, frankly. Usually, the only people who think everything is harmonious and okay are the people who benefit from racism. That's white folks in America, Europeans in Europe, Arabs in the Middle East, Japanese in Japan, Chinese in China, Chinese in Taiwan, whites in Latin America, etc.
If you ask an average _X_____ person in _Xland_, "do you think race relations are okay or improving quickly?" they'll answer "yes." The person who isn't of that _X_____ race will say "things are improving, but, it's not changing fast enough."

These IMC websites seem to have different levels of support, with LA's being at a minimal level and San Francisco's being at a maximum. Indybay, the San Francisco website that is preferred, is so active t hat it has sections for the daily newswire and the articles are also on subject pages. The Jena 6 story was featured in the center column, is now about 1/4 of the way down as the center column is updated daily and can be found at
http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2007/09/18/18448230.php
We had demonstrations in San Francisco and Berkeley, 200 and 1,000 respectively, a small number considering there are 7 million people living in the Bay Area (San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Sonoma, Solano and Napa counties), but that'/s the US. People also went by bus from the San Francisco Bay Area to Louisiana, which is a very long distance. For those of us who can easily remember the civil rights movements of the 1960s, it is sad to see that nothing has changed. If anything, things are worse because labor is weak. What we need is a labor movement to put an end to theprofit motive of capitalism that is the cause of racism. Labor organizing is the top activity that needs participation.

San Francisco's Indybay also featured the Jena 6 story in July, with lots of articles and photos, at
