This Week's Program:

No Good Turn Goes Unpunished

9/11 Health Reports Attacked

with

- Philip J. Landrigan, M.D., Chair of the Mt. Sinai Medical Center

Department of Community and Preventive Medicine

The N.Y. Times recently published an attack on the accuracy of the 9/11 health reports by the Irving J. Selikoff Center for Occupational and

Environmental Medicine, at Mount Sinai Hospital. In the weeks after 9/11 its doctors stepped into the fray in the absence of any meaningful effort by City,

State or Federal government to survey, interview and offer treatment to recovery and cleanup workers who were contaminated by their labors. With

the effort now still under way to lobby for adequate funding for diagnosis and treatment of workers and residents affected by the tragedy, the Times has

fosused on accusations that the Center inflated its reports of the health problems of workers at the site.

Unions Demand Health Care Funds 911 Rescue & Recovery Workers

Marking the observance of the 6th anniversary of the World Trade Center disaster, labor and community organizations rallied near ground zero recently in support of long overdue Federal legislation to provide comprehensive medical coverage for anyone

exposed to toxic dust and debris of ground zero.
