Santa Barbara's 3rd Really Really Free Market draws in the community to participate in an experimental alternative economy based on gift giving and mutual aid.

SB's 3rd Free Market went down on Saturday the 28th. Folks from the community gathered around 11am in Alice Keck Park Gardens unfurling goods, clothing, food and offering skills to share with others. The market ran most of the day.

Free Markets [not the "Free Market" of neoliberals] are based on economic principles of mutual aid in which people share with one another freely.

During SB's Free Market a spontaneous money burning ceremony was had by some. Burning $1 bills was described as one participant as as way to symbolically reject the monetary economy that holds private profits and property above social welfare and community.
