police can riot all they please

by 187 Thursday, May. 03, 2007 at 8:30 PM

police riot (again) at macarthur park in los angeles

A bit of "America" died yesterday as the establishment of order thru chaos, the LAPD, decided to disregard the Constitution and brutalize the public.

Freedom to Protest was hammered down by the brutal thugs in uniform.

Groups, most with small children were terrorized by these slovenly pigs.

Rubber bullets and tear gas were used to disperse a mostly peaceful crowd. Riotsticks were raised and lowered upon immigrants who sought to leave their naitive countries and come to America to escape this type of governmental police oppression.

Citizens had thier rights trampled on by overzelous "officers", without nametags for recoginition.

Many people lay injured, and thier as their faces were kicked, thier bodies pushed and battered.

I thought this was America.

Now i realize that the "America" that i had been spoonfed by the media has corroded into a third world nightmare senario.

I now realize that this has always been "America".

My eyes have been cleansed to the Truth of the America.

Oppression.

People of all races need to unite against this oppression, as Malcolm X said, "BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY"

The time for action is NOW.

Organize today.

Organize

Organize, yes. Organize for what, though?

How do people start taking steps to stop this sort of thing from happening again? I'm not from LA, but what kind of civilian oversight bodies are there in that town? Are there healthy public debates when that time of year comes round that the police submit their budget?

People will never win in a direct confrontation with the physical forces of the state. There needs to be some sort of city-wide consensus made that these goons need to start having their power reigned in, and their budgets cut. They obviously have too much extra firepower lying around if they feel justified in using it the way they did, right? So, find politicians who have their hands on the strings, and start pressuring them.

In comparison

This is exactly what our country was founded on, for those among us who still want to believe our country "used to be" fair and just. The Natives of this land were decimated and plundered for the sake of what we're dealing with today: the drive toward global imperial power.

It's going to have to come down to (possibly armed) resistance on a mass scale. With the way things are going down now, do you see another viable option? Our Constitution is being torn to shreds by laughing politicians and their laughing mercenaries(cops/military).

The 2nd Amendment is also under attack for this very reason...so we won't be able to resist the impending tyranny.
