The Surge is not

"I believe strongly that politicians in Washington shouldn't be telling generals how to do the surge as only Cheney should micromanage this," Bush said today.

"I also believe artificial timetables of withdrawal would be a mistake and this should be left to the AIPAC with the help of Halliburton and Blackwater."

"But the truth is that, however brutal the fighting in Iraq for our troops, the surge has failed as the underlying problems are political, " Bush said in an unusual brush with reality.

"Vicious ethnic cleansing is under way right under the noses of our troops, as various factions fight for power and survival. In this environment security is unlikely to come from smothering the struggle with a blanket of forces - it cannot be smothered easily, for additional US efforts can stir additional resistance - but rather the solution is for a more effective action to resolve the struggle at the political level, " he said astounding listeners and the AIPAC.

The neocons' vision has failed in Iraq but the AIPAC policy of getting America stuck in a Middle Eastern country has succeeded beautifully, he concluded.
