Last year a South African University discovered
a way to make solar panels from a substance
called CIGS which is one fifth the cost of the
older silicone panels, and a German company
is going to put these panels on the market this
summer. The CIGS panel brings the cost of
solar down to the equivalant of coal generating
plants.
But the synthetic clorophyll is a huge step towards
getting energy from the sun that we all will be able
to take advantage of.
