Holt renews call for anthrax probe update

Posted by Thre Times of Trenton April 10, 2007 5:19PM

PRINCETON BOROUGH -- U.S. Rep. Rush Holt Tuesday afternoon renewed his call for the FBI to brief Congress on the status of its investigation into the still unsolved mailed anthrax attacks of 2001 and to explain why no one has been prosecuted in the case yet.

"Three dozen bipartisan members of the House and the Senate have asked for briefings so that we (Congress) can do our oversight role. Despite all of that, we have been stonewalled," Holt, D-12, Hopewell Township, said during a news conference with various U.S. Postal Service union leaders next to a couple of postal drop boxes.

A different drop box at another location on Nassau Street had tested positive for anthrax in August 2002, almost a year after the mailed anthrax attacks from the fall of 2001, which killed five people, sickened at least 17 others and terrified the nation. That tainted drop box was taken out of service in August 2002.

Four anthrax-laced letters postmarked Sept. 18, 2001 were routed through the Hamilton Post Office on Route 130, which serves as the Postal Service's regional distribution center for the greater Trenton-Princeton area.

See Wednesday's Times for more details.

Anoter Congressional "Con Game"!

by The Forest 4 Trees Thursday, Apr. 12, 2007 at 8:27 PM

This is an old Congressional Con Game! They threaten to put the pressure on the White House by demanding any of a vast assortment of so-called "sensitive materials".

What it all really means is that various self-interest groups in the Congress or Senate want some special deals and favours for themselves and/or their wealthy patrons. This threat to "expose" the FBI and its "involvement" in the anthrax mailings,is just one such greedy and phony deal!

Ultimately the Congressmen will get their demands (for favours) met,the FBI will quietly slip off the hook and the anthrax "terrorism" case will fade into history as just another U.S.Govt. enigma!
