The Alliance Philippine (AJLPP) condemn in the strongest terms possible the continued spree of political killings and abduction of progressive leaders in the Philippines. The campaign of political killings and abduction continued unabated despite the international condemnation by international organizations of the US-Arroyo regime. And the most embarrassing, the killings and abduction were committed despite the Lenten season. Also in flagrant violation of the JASIG, it has summarily executed Sotero Llamas, Political Consultant of the NDFP, and caused the involuntary disappearance of NDFP Consultants and their immediate families and staff, namely, Rogelio Calubad and his son Gabriel; Prudencio Calubid, his wife Celine Palma and two companions, Leopoldo Ancheta and Philip Limjoco. The AJLPP believed that as long as the US-Arroyo regime remained play deaf and dumb on political killings and abduction of activists in the Philippines, her hands will be filled with blood and not too soon, she will pay like Marcos and Estrada for her crimes against the people.

STOP THE KILLINGS AND ABDUCTIONS, MAKE THE US-ARROYO REGIME ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR CRIMES AGAINST THE PEOPLE—AJLPP

Los Angeles --The Alliance Philippine (AJLPP), an alliance advocating for a just and lasting peace and human rights based in the Untied States, condemn in the strongest terms possible, the spree of political killings and abduction of progressive leaders in the Philippines especially during the holy week.

The campaign of political killings and abductions continued unabated despite the international condemnation by international organizations of the US-Arroyo regime. And the most embarrassing, the killings and abduction were committed despite the Lenten season.

Why? Because the US-Arroyo regime’s “death squads” does not fear God. They only respect violence and money.

The AJLPP-USA vehemently condemn the abduction and the killing of two Cagayano peasant members of KAGIMONGAN, a KMP affiliate in Cagayan province - Arturo Orpilla and other person named Battad whose dead bodies were found under the Magapit Bridge prior to Holy Thursday, 2007.

The AJLPP remembered the same modus operandi when in 1982, the military under Major Rodolfo Aguinaldo, the PC intelligence chief in the province abducted, tortured and killed six Cagayan State University (CSU) students and dumped the bodies under the Magapit bridge to scare the people. Eventually. PC Major Aguinaldo was meted out revolutionary justice that eluded him for decades.

Now, like Major Aguinaldo, retired general Jovito Palparan and Virgilio Garcellano are running as a congressman in Bukidnon to make a mockery of the law. Aguinaldo was able to escape all his cases from human rights violations and mounting coup d’ tat when he made himself Governor of Cagayan and later a Congressman in the early 1990’s.

More than 210 activists missing since 2001

Another BAYAN MUNA local leader, 62 year old woman, Lourdes “Nay Ude” Rubrico was abducted last April 3, 2007 by armed men riding a jeep with plate number XRR 428 in Dasmarinas, Cavite. AJLPP express deep outrage and concern over these violent incidents against the Filipino people.

Earlier on March 30, death squads in San Jose, Tarlac, abducted another woman leader, Josefine Nagoy, 32 years old. This brings to more than 210 the persons who were missing and believed to be abducted by the deaths quads in the Philippines.

The AJLPP will do it utmost to reach out to other solidarity and people's organizations, religious entities and state agencies in the United States to make the US-Arroyo accountable for its crimes against the people.
