“OSCAR FOR PEACE” Anti-War Vigil and Awards Ceremony

Military Families Speak Out of Southern California is proud to host an Anti-War Vigil and Awards Ceremony to take place on Academy Awards Day...as a symbolic political statement opposing the continued Congressional funding of the war while supporting the PEOPLE’S demand to Bring the Troops Home Now!

Sunday, February 25, 2007,
At the corner of Hollywood & Vine,
Hollywood, CA

Time:
12 noon

Military Families Speak Out will be honoring individuals from the PEACE community for their continued work on behalf of WE, the PEOPLE, in supporting our demands to de-fund the Iraq war and to support the troops by bringing them home now and taking care of them when they get home!

A six-foot camouflaged "Oscar" for Peace soldier with the message, "BRING ME HOME!" will be featured at the vigil.

Bring LARGE PRINT, mulitlingual signs honoring BESTS (or WORSTS): for Peace, for De-funding the war, for Anti-War reporting, for Calling for an End to the War, for Peace Activism, for best Peace documentary.....BE CREATIVE!

There will be reporters and camera crews from all over the world waiting for the Academy Awards ceremony to begin. They will have LOTS OF TIME to interview attendees of our event. If you have a STATEMENT for the WORLD regarding GWB's illegal war, then this "Oscar for Peace" Vigil and Awards Ceremony is YOUR opportunity to speak out to the global community!
