Jan 27th Peace Events Held in Over 125 Cities and Towns Nationwide - Over 100,000 Expected to March in Washington DC

WHEN: Saturday, January 27th at Noon

WHERE: Pre-March Rally outside California Democratic Party office - 888 S. Figueroa St. (at 9th St.) then March to the Federal Building - 300 N. Los Angeles St., Downtown LA for 2nd Rally.

UPDATED MARCH ROUTE: Pre-March Rally at 9th and Figueroa outside Democratic Party office. March will go East on 9th to Broadway. North on Broadway all the way up to Temple. East on Temple to Los Angeles. North on Los Angeles for half a block, for 2nd Rally at Federal Building at Temple and Los Angeles St.

WHO: Speakers include:

Cindy Sheehan - mother of California soldier killed in Iraq, co-founder, Gold Star Families for Peace

Ron Kovic - Antiwar Activist, Vietnam war vet, author of Born on the Fourth of July

Helga Aguayo - wife of Army medic Agustin Aguayo who applied for Conscientious Objector status and was denied. Deployed to Iraq for a year, he went AWOL at his base in Germany after the military ordered him to return for a 2nd deployment. He turned himself in and is being court-martialed. Will be joined by Aguayo’s mother.

Pat Alviso, - mother of Marine currently serving in Iraq, Military Families Speak Out, Orange County

Kent Wong - Director, Center for Labor Research and Education, UCLA

Nativo Lopez -President of the Mexican American Political Association (MAPA), Immigrant Rights leader

Pastor Lewis Logan - Bethel AME Church Community Call to Action and Accountability
