Chief Pig Bratton works with DEA to raid 100 medical marijuana stores across LA

by systemfailure Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 at 4:49 AM

While preaching marijuana reform by proposing a "moratorium" on medical marijuana centers, Chief Pig Bratton conspires with the DEA to raid over 100 medical marijuana dispensaries.

Police Chief William Bratton is backing a moratorium on marijuana distribution dispensaries.

Yesterday, Chief Pig Bratton and the Police Commission asked the City Council to impose a moratorium on all centers until they comply with "certain laws".

Under a 1996 state ballot measure, the clinics can distribute doctor-prescribed marijuana.

To paraphrase the Chief Pig Bratton, he supports corporate monopolies and high prices on marijuana that will lead to patients seeking prescriptions from underworld drug peddlers.

He dosen't really care if California voters support prescription marijuana---he runs his own fascist country in Los Angeles County.

Today, over 100 medical marijuana facilities across Los Angeles Country were raided, ransacked and all persons were detained.

Marijuana was taken as "evidence" and doors to these facilities were boarded and locked.

Of course the Chief Pig claims "no knowledge" of this COINTELPRO style setup.

Um, not sure where you get your facts from, but the medical marijuana community and ASA are only reporting 11 dispensaries that were raided.

And here is some info about what a moratorium is, with respect to medical cannabis dispensaries:

It is when a city or county decides that it will not permit any MORE dispensaries to open. It's not about closing the ones that are open.

Is this in the LA Times or another paper? Is the info online at all? Is there any independent coverage??? either way, seems this should be a feature on LA-IMC.
