This is a video posted by one of the Minuteman participants. It shows very well how aggressive and immature the Minuteman members act, confronting people with different thinking, calling them "bitch" repeatedly, you name it. I'm always up for capturing this kind of behavior in camera but it makes my self appointed task much easier when they do it for me! This is like a case of road rage, only it goes on for many, many months.

I also find it pathetic and desperate of the Minutemen to cling onto certain people like the families of David March, Ramos and Campeon, and others. I know they have bad situations and I don't deny it. The Ramos and Campeon case, I haven't read much into. Obviously it's good that the killer of March is going to prison. But the thing is, if I was in that kind of situation, I'd say no thanks to the Minutemen. I would make it clear that I want no help, assistance, or support of any kind from any members of affiliates or even supporters of the Minutemen, KKK, National Alliance, Stormfront, whatever. How much connection there is between the Minutemen and the rest of those I listed, I'm not sure, but I've seen enough myself and I wouldn't take any chances with them. It's all tainted and embarrassing, Nazis or not. No thanks Minutemen. Step aside so other people can take action without being pressured into the Minuteman stigma.

Yep, they're really riding this one to fame and stardom. They made sure they were in personal contact with the families of Ramos and Compean. With the president involved, they'll take this opportunity to put names like Jim Gilchrist and others in the media. Maybe even names like Robin Hvidston and Ray Hererra. Reality check, plz. This "march" is a fundraiser. The Ramos family's doing the media tour, and Old Preach is pitching for donations (I guess some camp preachers just can't help themselves). They're fundraising "going straight to grocery money." And for airfare, hotels, and all the rest of the media campaign frenzy, no doubt.

This is what went down.

Two rogue Border Patrol agents went running through the desert shooting at an unarmed guy for failure to yield. The guy ran off after he surrendered, hands in the air, and the border patrol agents tried to pistol-whip him. They fired 15 rounds at the fleeing suspect, maybe already across the border, changing magazines as they went.

Compean carefully scarfed up nine of the shell casings. Sometime later, Compean asked a third agent to clean up the mess, and that agent went back to the site and grabbed up five more casings and threw them into a drainage ditch. Neither Compean or Ramos reported the shooting to any supervisor.

After the fact, they discovered the guy was hauling pot and in the country on an expired visa.

And that's the Department of Justice's report.

Let me say this again: two pigs ran after a fleeing suspect, shooting 15 rounds at his back, hitting him once. He ran off *after* he had surrendered and the pigs started to beat him with their shotgun. If this were anywhere but at the border, there'd be riots. Hell, there *were* riots, triggered by less than this.

What's the shame here is that no one's on the border videotaping pigs, but I'm guessing the anti-police brutality folks and the migrants' rights crowd will be all over this one if it looks like either of these buttwipes is going to get off.

The only way to stop the flow of people to the US is to hold the Mexican government accountable for the way they treat their own people. Building a wall won't work, passing stricter laws won't work. It is disgusting the way the poor in Mexico are treated. Mexico is a country rich in resources and they have the ability to take care of their own.

The US can only absorb so many low skilled workes. This huge influx of low skilled workers is hurting the poor in America.

We need a revolution in Mexico and we need a revolution in the United States. Politicians on both sides of the border are greedy scum who don't care about the average person.

So, I suggest, the problem is the U.S., not Mexico, until the U.S. debt crashes the U.S. economy. If this country allowed Mexico to hold on to its product (and the resources to make that product), instead of sucking it up north for the gringos, then Mexicans would be a lot better off. And, since signing on to NAFTA, Mexico doesn't have much choice.

Since NAFTA, up to 5M farmers have been forced off their land and 28000 native businesses have been squeezed out. The price of corn tortillas (think bread) has risen 50%, and wages on the border are down 25%. Sad to say, much of Mexico has become the impoverished barrio of its wealthy and thieving northern neighbor. Now the effects of CAFTA are coming our way.

Until these "free trade" agreements include guarantees for good wages, a healthy environment, and an overall better standard of living, U.S. corporations will continue to ghoulishly slurp the wealth out of Mexico and the Central American countries and into the United States. The people will follow the resources they need to survive. No immigration law will stop that, except maybe to temporarily increase the poverty the U.S. is exporting until a tipping point is reached, here or there.

What I'm waiting to see is what happens when the Chinese people get tired of working for less money than the maguiladora workers, and the Chinese government decides to call in its chit to pay them. When that day comes, we'll all be trading in our gold fillings for those yen.

Actually, a lot of the workers are highly skilled, even degreed professionals. They are often overskilled for the jobs they take. They just have to take the low-skill jobs because they don't have status.

In a fairer world, they'd be doing okay in Mexico, benefiting from the increase in trade, but the way things are set up, they just get screwed.

The way things are set up, the bigshots in Mexico listen to the bigshots in the USA, and push forward with the neoliberal program. When the Zapatistas had their uprising, did the USA support the uprising? Of course not. Our government opposed it. The same thing happened with APPO.

Not only that, but most Americans, ignorant as we are, went along with our government, and failed to raise money, failed to have telethons, failed to show pundits on the news to support the popular uprising in Mexico that would have helped the people reduce government corruption.

America supports corruption in Mexico. By and large, except for some stalwart leftists, Americans support corruption in Mexico, by not supporting Mexicans in their efforts to get rid of corruption.

I do however take issue with you stance that many immigrants are not low skilled workers. That just isn't true. Many of the people coming here are uneducated (through no fault of their own).

Many of them may be "unskilled" workers, but I wont' hesitate to admit that the average worker among them is far more skilled than I am. It's not that I wouldn't do the jobs they do, often it's that I can't! Legal or not, according to US immigration laws, if they have a family to feed and do the job right, pay him/her a fair and decent wage.

The part "according to US immigration laws" means whether they're here accordingly or not. I wasn't implying that such laws cover wages for workers here against immigration laws. I'm not taking a stance on the issue of deportation or hiring people without papers. Lucky for me, I'm not a politician. But generally speaking, let people eat and be healthy and have dignity. And mass deportation is not the answer. I respect citizenship and immigration laws and the border. But, human life come first, no matter how many surrounding situations and effects we have to adjust. Make it so.

That video was from quite a while back but I only saw it for the first time when it was posted right here. Wish I had seen it sooner. I myself have seen this sort of thing in Lake Forest, but not really to this degree. However, instead of a protester, such words were said directly to a day labor worker. I do wish that video, posted here, would be shown on CNN and anywhere else in the media.

One day punks like "Maria," "the Donkey" and their ilk will find that the pigs they rely on have abandonded them for a half-price sale at a donut shop. Then the hammer of justice will come down--hard.
