Baker says it’s time to divide and conquer.
Common sense say it’s time to ‘cut and run’ and to tell Israel to make peace with the much abused and robbed Palestinians.

The old formation of the nation state of Iraq is out of date and out of fashion, Baker thinks.

The Ottoman Empire ruled the area of Iraq in 3 separate sections, Mosul, Baghdad and Basra.

They managed any conflict between the sects and tribes with an intimate and personal knowledge of Islam and the area.

When Bush invaded Iraq, at the request of Israel, he had not heard or read about the Ottoman Empire did not even know the difference between Shi’a and Sunni Muslims.

The only Mohammad he had heard of was the well-known boxer from Louisville, Kentucky.

The result of this invasion is now that the Shi’a, who are on the rise throughout the Middle East, now control southern Iraq with Iranian help.
This is not the result Israel had wanted.

They thought that a superpower stomping around on the ground around the Middle East would cow the locals.

No chance, as they should have know from their attempted illegal occupation of Palestine over the last 58 years.

Baker’s divide and conquer will not work either.
What is needed is an overall settlement of our invasion and occupation of Palestine in 1948, an immediate pull out from Iraq and a halt to our threats to Iran.

We broke up the Ottoman Empire but it is for the locals to decide what they want next.

If we are dumb enough to attack Iran, as Israel now wants, we will end up freezing in Europe and America with $200 a barrel oil and our economies down the tube.
