Alert: more TX + FL e-voting flipping Democrat votes to Republican in early voting

by Tom Flocco Friday, Nov. 03, 2006 at 9:31 PM

A listener called in to say that he had just experienced an irregularity in the voting booth. After completing the ballot he punched "Review" only to discover that three of the Democratic candidates he had voted for had been changed to Republican candidates.

Subject: Casting your ballot ALERT

Be sure to click on "Review" after you have checked the boxes on your ballot. If you have to make a change click on "Review" again to make sure the ballot shows your correct choice. If not, ask for the Elections

Judge.

I experienced an irregularity when I voted and have since notified several official offices including Rep. Menendez since he has drafted legislation to control these reported irregularities. There is an article in today's E-N about this legislation.

My experience was this. After I very carefully checked the candidates of my choice, I clicked on "Review" and to my amazement one of the candidates I had voted for had been changed to another candidate of a different party. I had to correct that error & I tried "Review" again to make sure the correct box was, in fact, checked.

I didn't think too much about it at the time but after hearing Diane Rehm's Show yesterday morning on the subject of the reliability of the voting machines I became worried.

A listener called in to say that he had just experienced an irregularity in the voting booth. After completing the ballot he punched "Review" only to discover that three of the Democratic candidates he had voted for had been changed to Republican candidates.

Realizing this was my same experience I began reporting it to elected officials. After talking with the various offices I found that other people here in San Antonio have had the same experience. Be Aware!

U.S. and international agents to monitor e-vote satellite activity during election ~ e-votes flipping Democrat votes to Republican in early voting

U.S. and international agents to monitor e-vote satellite activity during election

House and Senate members facing either re-election or removal from office on Tuesday are not telling Americans that satellites may have the capability to access, question and effectively monitor e-vote computer systems at polling stations and central vote tabulators at all government levels via two-way modems and wireless technology.

U.S. and international intelligence agents will closely watch the activities of satellites during and after the American elections next Tuesday according to government sources who declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue, even as reports indicate that electronic vote tabulators in some states are now being linked to and monitored by global positioning satellites.

Glitches cited in early voting

Early voters are urged to cast their ballots with care following scattered reports of problems with heavily used machines.

Debra A. Reed voted with her boss on Wednesday at African-American Research Library and Cultural Center near Fort Lauderdale. Her vote went smoothly, but boss Gary Rudolf called her over to look at what was happening on his machine. He touched the screen for gubernatorial candidate Jim Davis, a Democrat, but the review screen repeatedly registered the Republican, Charlie Crist. -clip-

Joan Marek, 60, a Democrat from Hollywood, was also stunned to see Charlie Crist on her ballot review page after voting on Thursday. ''Am I on the voting screen again?'' she wondered. ``Well, this is too weird.'' -clip-

Mauricio Raponi wanted to vote for Democrats across the board at the Lemon City Library in Miami on Thursday. But each time he hit the button next to the candidate, the Republican choice showed up. -clip-

Jefferson County Voters Continue To Raise Concerns About Voting Machines

October 28,2006

-clip-

KFDM continues to get complaints from Jefferson County voters who say the electronic voting machines are not registering their votes correctly.

Friday night, KFDM reported about people who had cast straight Democratic ticket ballots, but the touch-screen machines indicated they had voted a straight Republican ticket.

-clip-

Saturday, KFDM spoke to another voter who says it's not just happening with straight ticket voting, he says it's happening on individual races as well, Jerry Stopher told us when he voted for a Democrat, the Republican's name was highlighted.

Stopher said, "There's something in these machines, in this equipment, that's showing Republican votes when you vote for Democrats, and I know Ms. Guidry's a nice lady, and she's working hard, but her theory that my fingernail was somehow over the Republican button is just unrealistic, my fingernail was not. The equipment is not working properly as far as I can tell."

what about you?

Being libertarian for 20 plus years, I have seen both Democraps and Republitrash trying to keep 3rd parties down. Unfare ballot access laws and law suits that drain 3rd party funds, and other dirty tricks used to keep the big parties big and others small.

So, if Democraps gets screwed over, i got no tears for you. BUT since the shinnanigans are also an attack on America's most sacred institution (elections, which Democraps ALSO attacked with unfare ballot acces laws, etc), then of course it pisses me off. But that pissing me off doesn't mean Democraps have been or are saints.

If you want others to play fare, shouldn't you also be expected to NOT be such pricks to 3rd parties???
