Lieberman out of the shadows: Israel's Minister of Strategic Threats

by Jonathan Cook Wednesday, Nov. 01, 2006 at 1:50 AM

Lieberman wants a president who has the authority to make major legislative changes, even constitutional ones, without having to make the backroom compromises to keep together the coalition governments that characterise Israel's current political system. The president Lieberman has in mind would be more on the lines of an autocratic ruler. Olmert is apparently sympathetic to Lieberman's plans to change the political system. It is not difficult to understand why.

The furore that briefly flared this week at the decision of Israel's Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, to invite Avigdor Lieberman and his Yisrael Beiteinu party into the government coalition is revealing, but not in the way most observers assume.

Lieberman, a Russian immigrant, is every bit the populist and racist politician he is portrayed as being. Like many of his fellow politicians, he harbours a strong desire to see the Palestinians of the occupied territories expelled, ideally to neighbouring Arab states or Europe. Lieberman, however, is more outspoken than most in publicly advocating for this position.

For the rest:

Gone and back. No defending the indefensible I guess, huh?

by Still waiting for response Tia Tuesday, Nov. 07, 2006 at 3:33 AM

I guess there's no defending the indefensible. You've been exposed.

Tia's quote, "in the time-honored Islamic tradition of avoiding the consequences of their actions"

Tia's quote, "Well Mr. PrionParty, why do I think you might actually be Palestinian? It isn't just the lies you tell- its the obsessive way you tell them."

Those quotes speak for themselves.

Anything to say about these bigoted comments, Tia?

prothetic memories of Zion

The reminders are annoying. But if one of the people you are here to intimidate and /or bury in a deluge of lies had said ...

--------

"in the time-honored Jewish tradition of avoiding the consequences of their actions

--------

...you would be screaming anti-semite 24-7 for ten years following the extraction of an apology.

But you haven't even issued an apology, or any expression of contrition whatsoever.

Lord Hatemonger, only yesterday, suggested that shooting Palestinians in the womb was a fabulous method of genocide - and your co-religonist has not expressed contrition or shame for this proudly Naziesque statement.

And your silence is deafening too, Tia.

As a descendent of British royalty, I doubt Lord Locksley is Jewish.

As a Texan and a Republican - I doubt he is Jewish

I could be wrong, however

"you were out to cause as much trouble as possible"

I still like that idea. In fact, its on my agenda for...right about now.

I'll report back later. Maybe there will be photos, too.

Each time he comments he just adds another point to each reader who hits the hate/insult button, But that's just a working example of how these mentalities are dysfunctional and lost in their own racism. Most likely he is unaware of this.

Funny how zionists quote them when they need 'em

by another Jan Egeland quote Friday, Nov. 10, 2006 at 5:32 PM

When the count of unexploded cluster bomblets passed 100,000, the United Nation's undersecretary-general for humanitarian affairs, Jan Egeland, expressed his disbelief at the scale of the problem.

"What's shocking and, I would say to me, completely immoral," he said, "is that 90% of the cluster-bomb strikes occurred in the last 72 hours of the conflict, when we knew there would be a resolution, when we really knew there would be an end of this."
