Nathalie Baye and Phillippe Leotard as Nicole and Dede are both great. Baye is the quick-witted, fiery and insanely attractive street walker. (Swaim directs the scenes to maximize Baye's erotic quotient; she's also quite terrific.) Leotard is her stoic pimp. He's kind of a Victor Mature type here who is stuck between the mob and the fascist cops.
