Rodney Alexander brought to my attention the existence of e-mails between Mark Foley and a former page of Mr. Alexander's. Because of the fact that I knew what Foley was up to and his sexual abuse of other pages I told the Speaker, J Dennis Hastert, all about this.

Hastert had a chat with Dick Cheney who said he would come back to him.

Cheney had a chat with Bush who told him to cover it up.

Cheney passed this command back to Hastert.

Congress cracked down on child molesters earlier, passing a bill that would toughen sentences and create a national sex offenders registry.

The bill aims to stop repeat offenders by keeping them locked up longer.

The bill would impose a mandatory minimum sentences for a number of offences including covering up child sex abuse.

This leaves Cheney and Bush with jail time.
