A source close to the ill-fated land sale claims that Councilperson Jan Perry discouraged developer Ralph Horowitz from selling the land to the farmers. According to this source, there is a connection between Horowitz's planned warehouses (at the site of the farm) and other land in Perry's district that he plans to develop (at Slauson and Central).
Rufina of the farm has said that the South Central Farm could be restored in about six months. For the farmers and their supporters the struggle isn't over.
