Madrid, Aug 17 (Prensa Latina) The group of Saharan writers and poets "Generation of Friendship" joined their voices to thousands of others wishing a rapid recover to Cuban President Fidel Castro, who is getting over complicated intestinal surgery.
Academics Ali Salem Iselmu "Pirri", Bahia Mahmud Awah, Chejdan Mahmud, Limam Boicha, Luali Lehsan, Mohamed Salem Abdelfatah Ebnu, Saleh Abdalahi and Zahra Hasnaui rejected external threats against Cuba and fought for respecting the Cuban people's wishes.
They expressed gratitude to the Caribbean island, and recollected love and dreams shared with Saharan students in this country, as many of them did in that brother nation.
Their declaration comes when over 10,000 world figures, among them Nobel prizewinners, artists, writers, humanists and social fighters, reject the US threats to Cuba.
The document "Cuba's Sovereignty Must Be respected" is circulating today in different parts of the world, after already being signed by 400 figures from 50 countries.
