Local mentoring program for children of incarcerated parents in need of adult mentors (especially men!)

Ever thought about becoming a mentor? PATHWAYS mentoring program currently has children, ages 8-12 years old, who are waiting to spend just one hour a week with a mentor! The majority of our kids live in the Long Beach/Norwalk areas and they have at least one parent who is incarcerated. In L.A. County alone there are over 110,000 children who have a parent who is incarcerated. Our mentors need to be at least 18 years old and have to complete an application/screening process to ensure the safety of our kids.
Not only is mentoring a child rewarding, it can be a lot of fun too! Our mentees and mentors have been having a great time together—going to the beach, reading, riding bikes, going to the park, doing homework, playing games, going to a sports event, etc.
We have a great need for mentors at this time, and there are so many kids right here in our community who need you! If you would like any more information on our mentoring program, please feel free to contact me!
**We especially need male mentors at this time (our waiting list for boy mentees is up to 25 boys!) so if you know of any men in your life (family, friends, co-workers) who would be a great role model for our boys, please pass along this information!**
Thanks for your time!!
