Stewart A. Alexander
2006 Candidate
California Lieutenant Governor
Peace and Freedom Party

On July 4th Stewart Alexander kicked off his campaign to become California’s next lieutenant governor, making several stops in Los Angeles County. The stops included Venice and Santa Monica, reaching over 50,000 people during a full day of campaigning. In Santa Monica there was bumper to bumper traffic for several hours which was good for campaigning.

With his campaign manager, Vicki Alexander, Stewart Alexander spoke to hundreds of people, shook hands, signed autographs and posed for pictures.

The wording on two large signs read, “I NEED YOUR VOTE STEWART ALEXANDER FOR CALIFORNIA LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR,” and “VOTE NOVEMBER 2006 STEWART ALEXANDER FOR CALIFORNIA LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR;” the signs are generating excitement with huge crowds and has stimulated public interest.

Going into the weekend after the holiday the campaign moved to San Diego and the Orange County beach communities; reaching 10’s of thousands during a full day of campaigning. With horns blowing and thumbs up, many said they were glad to see a candidate out on the streets.

Alexander says, “The press has been avoiding third party candidates and presenting the usual one side, however the public has a greater interest than the traditional Democratic Republican candidates.”

The grassroots campaign approach is very simple; Alexander is taking his campaign to the people, where ever they are, on the streets, to the beaches and in their neighborhoods. Campaigning on weekends, Alexander estimate over one million people will see his name and face by the November General Election.

Alexander is a candidate for the Peace and Freedom Party and his platform advocates repealing the Three Strikes Law, establishing affordable housing, affordable health care, protecting the environment and providing free public education through university level. Alexander is also a strong opponent to rising gasoline prices and the Iraq War.

Presently Stewart Alexander and Vicki Alexander are looking for more volunteers because the goal is to have the name Stewart Alexander and the Peace and Freedom Party known statewide by November 7, 2006.
