Sr. Carreon, Todos;
I have been notified by a reader that you have carried an article or articles I have authored on your website or that you have disseminated them via email.
I deny you permission to use my work or to disseminate it in any way without a prominently displayed disclaimer that the author, Juan Santos, has no association whatsoever with Azlan.net or Voz de Aztlan, that Juan Santos does not write for Azlan.net or Voz de Aztlan, that he does not support the ideology propagated by Azlan.net or Voz de Aztlan, and without a prominently displayed link to the original source.
That source will in no case be Aztlan.net or any publication in any medium with which you, Mr. Carreon, or any of your compatriots are associated.
Juan Santos

Thank you very much for your kindness in giving this note to Sr. Carreon some prominence. I wrote to him privately and reposted my comments here, specifically because I hoped to have in the public record my disavowal of his organization in order to protect my own circle from the kind of smears that were laid at the feet of the South Central Farm by Ralph Horowitz due to commentary on Hector Carreon's Aztlan.net website.
I very much appreciate the respect you have shown in giving this notice prominence in your Local News section, but honestly, I'm not sure it rates ;-)
I was hoping to walk the fine line between giving public notice of my disavowal of Voz de Aztlan's ideology without launching an attack.
I'm not sure I succeeded, but in any case, maybe this would be better placed in Other/ Breaking News.
Mil Gracias,
Juan Santos

i think that local news is a fine place for this note to atzlan.net. I too am upset with atzlan.net. I did not like the site before... and I certainly do not appreciate the site now! solidarity also means not being an idiot.

Saludos Juan,
About Horowitz's comment that "they said I was in the Jewish mafia." This was no more than a convenient excuse. But that's all it was. Horowitz knows La Voz is independent and has no affiliation with the So. Central Farm. He just doesn't like La Voz so he decided to blame it on them, plain and simple.
As you know, Juan, there are hundreds of anti-Mexican websites on the net. And they are leading the charge against the migrations of our people.
We have just a handful of sites that support our cause. Some more extreme than others. But this must be tolerated.
No one likes everything I put on my site and I do not like everything that goes on other websites. But I run my site and I will not cave in to public pressure. Neither should you and neither should La Voz.
Surely, NBC is not responsible for what CBS publishes. If Horowitz or anyone else doesn't like La Voz that is fine but it isn't La Voz's fault that Horowitz wouldn't sell the SCF the land. Blaming La Voz is the same thing as blaming Univision.
If La Voz becomes collateral damage because of this then no website is safe.
What I write reflects on me, what you right reflects on you and what any other website writes reflects on them.
I do not believe for one minute that Horowitz thought that you were a writer for La Voz.
I do believe that a responsible, professional webmaster always links his source.
-Daniel

Who would want to be associated with the racist drivel of Voz? These ethnic separatists have been peddling this delusional nonsense for years. No one listens anymore.

La Voz de Aztlan is not to blame for what happened to the Farm, Horowitz absolutely knows that La Voz has no link to the Farm, and he clearly concocted the story of supposed anti-Semitism from the Farmers in a very cynical manipulation of the truth.
If anything, the only hint of open racism in the direct debate between the principal actors around Farm issues came in a comment from Horowitz, a xenophobic and racist anti-migrant comment.
La Voz de Aztlan should be supported in their fight against the government censors that raided their computers. It tells its own tale that they were targeted for suppression, and that sites like the SOS sites and various Minutemen outlets are untouched.
But I do not agree with the ideology of La Voz de Aztlan and don't want my work - and especially I don't want organizations I am part of - to be associated with their ideology.
Had La Voz de Aztlan properly attributed my work and linked to its original source, I wouldn't have spoken up. But I do not want a rep as a "Voz de Aztlan writer," and that's exactly the impression it gives when proper links and attribution aren't provided.
The first time this happened - when a reader wrote me a thank you note for something I had "written for La Voz de Aztlan" I ignored it. This was the second go round.
And really, you know, I just don't think this is newsworthy...
Thanks for your feedback and reflections, Daniel.
