On the morning of the eviction during rush-hour traffic demonstrators decided to occupy the intersection of 41st and Alameda. The LASD blocked off traffic as far south as Vernon, as far North as 24th st , and quarantined as far east as Santa Fe and west to Long Beach Blvd. All LAPD and LASD units were armed with riot gear. Although the civil disobedience was a peaceful action, the police got violent and began kicking and beating demonstrators. After police arrested the demonstrators they announced an unlawful assembly and threatened to arrest everyone else who didn't comply with orders to move north. The plan was to push everyone up to 24th street so they could re-open traffic. Eventually the rest of the demonstrators joined up with everyone else on the other side of the farm at Long Beach and 41st.

THE NIGHT BEFORE

On the evening of 6:12:06 police activity around the farm was very minimal. Around 11PM , Cop Watch L.A observed 1 Sheriff patrol car with 2 deputies come down the block and circle the farm very slowly and shine a spot light on the perimeter gates as it passed the front entrance on Long Beach Blvd. Cop Watch pursued the Sheriff until they reached Alameda drove away heading south.

Cop Watch Los Angeles supports the South Central Farm and will be there to observe and document the law enforcement’s role and attacks on the farmers and their supporters. Cop Watch LA also provides security for the people.
