PROTEST RACIST MINUTEMEN IN DOWNTOWN LA
Equality For All! Amnesty and Legalization Now!

SUNDAY, MAY 21, 11 AM
Gather at Olympic and Broadway, LA

To Carpool with A.N.S.W.E.R. meet at 10 am at 1800 Argyle, #410, LA.

This Sunday, join pro-immigrant organizations, including the A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, at a counter demonstration against the racist, anti-immigrant Minuteman Project. Minutemen members and supporters will be marching through downtown Los Angeles that day in a so-called "Civil Rights" march. The Minuteman Project is an organization that opposes immigrants and undocumented workers. Dubbing their hateful action a march for "Civil Rights" is an outright lie. Their true aim is to prevent immigrants from gaining the Civil Rights they deserve.

A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition and others will gather at the corner of Olympic and Broadway to protest the racist Minutemen. We will also pass out informational flyers on that day in the surrounding area and nearby communities urging people to join the counter protest and oppose anti-immigrant racism and bigotry. Bring banners and signs to show your support for immigrant rights.

The Minutemen are part of the right-wing's strategy to defeat immigrants' genuine aspirations for amnesty and full equality. They are being coached and funded to leverage Bush's militaristic immigration plan that was announced this week. They are lackeys for Corporate America who seek to divide the working class and confuse it into blaming immigrants for all of society's ills. But immigrants are not to blame for lack of healthcare and affordable education, unemployment or anything else. Immigrants are forced to come to this country in search of work because the economies of their home countries have been destroyed by U.S. neoliberal economic policies like NAFTA and CAFTA.

The corporate owners and their political protectors in Washington are to blame for the social problems plaguing this country. They'd rather spend hundreds of billions on the racist war in Iraq to garner massive profits than to spend a dime funding badly-needed social programs. People of all nationalities must unite against this greedy class of owners and their racist supporters - they are the real enemies of the people.

Now is the time for everyone to stand up for full equality, legalization and amnesty for undocumented workers. No to racism and the Minutemen! No to a guest worker program! The workers' struggle for justice has no borders!
