When it comes to the mainstream media under the George W. Bush
Fascist State, you must ask yourself, which mainstream media
corporation has the most legitimacy, relevance, honesty, and
accuracy in their reporting of current events?

B) CBS

E) FOX
F) The Washington Post
G) The Los Angeles Times

I) Comedy Central's Jon Stewart of "The Daily Show" and Stephen
Colbert of "The Colbert Report."

Yes, the correct answer is "I."

In a study on viewer knowledge about current events conducted
perhaps a year ago, researches found that viewers who watched
"FOX News" were the least informed. When it came to accuracy
about current events, viewers of Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show"
ranked the highest.

Obviously the consequences of watching "FOX" were expected and
not at all a surprise to anyone who's ever participated in a
Usenet Newsgroup discussion or visited a right-wing web site, but
a comedy channel ranking highest in accuracy of news reporting?

How the fuck did that happen?

How did the media in the United States wind up being a corporate
extension of the government? A virtual propaganda ministry in
fact if not in name working for a dictatorship in fact if not in
name?

Flip that coin and read the questions on the back: How did a
comedy cable channel wind up being the venue by which undeniable
truth gets shoved into the faces of not only the profoundly
criminal government and its lapdog media co-conspirators, but
also into the faces of millions of Americans, some 30% or so of
whom lives in the same bubble as George W. Bush?

This was deliberate, of course. These phenomena don't happen
without planning -- there's money involved and economics drives
both the fascification of the United States, the equally
treasonous complicity of mainstream media, as well as the
creation (after the fact) of a niche for those American citizens
who want to be informed about the atrocities being committed in
their name, done as gently as possible.

And making fun of our loss of rights, freedoms, and liberties
under this fascist regime is certainly the best way to retain a
positive outlook for the future (always hoping) when some of
these war criminals stand trial for their crimes against humanity
and the United States can start to restore its Constitution and
Bill of Rights.

Until then, the mainstream media continues its slide into the
toilet of disposable ejecta, crap that's retained only by the
least intelligent, most superstitious, most cultist among us.

The rest of us turn ever more to foreign news outlets, to
Internet blogs, wiki, indymedia, and other news sources on the
Internet where the accuracy of news is leagues greater than the
mainstream, and where intelligent people apply falsification
methodologies through background research of citations and
references, nearly all of which is lacking in mainstream print,
and totally lacking in the visual mainstream.

Jon Stewart once appeared on "Crossfire" and asked the Bush
Republican corporate shills to "stop hurting America." The
damage caused by the defacto propaganda arm of the Bush regime
has been incalculable and Stewart's appeal to mainstream media
fell on deaf ears.

The Bush regime doesn't want to listen to what We The People have
to say about how our country should be run; the Bush regime gets
its marching orders from the corporations -- and yes, from Israel
-- which run this country, and We The People are little more than
a tax-paying nuisance, half of which are easily lied to.

What's not so easy to ignore is the rare occasion when the crooks
have their noses rubbed into their own shit and are made -- nay,
forced like Bush and the mainstream media were -- to sit there and
be told about their own stink for a quarter of an hour.

Thank you, Stephen Colbert. You're 1000 times a better American
citizen than most. And also thank you, Jon Stewart. You're
about 999 times a better citizen -- one point off because your
ears match and you don't hate bears.
