Join MIWON, the Multi-Ethnic Immigrant Organizing Network, as we celebrate International Worker’s Day and rally together with workers and community supporters to fight the recent legislative attacks on immigrants.

Celebrate International Worker’s Day

Join MIWON, the Multi-Ethnic Immigrant Organizing Network, as we celebrate International Worker’s Day and rally together with workers and community supporters to fight the recent legislative attacks on immigrants.

This year, MIWON will host the kick off rally for the Los Angeles May 1st march. The march will start at MacArthur Park and will go through the middle of the city, following Wilshire to La Brea.

What: Kick off Rally
When: 3pm – 4pm program
4pm march begins

Where: Corner of Park View and 7th Street, Los Angeles

Speakers include: Workers from the garment industry, home health care industry, day laborers and domestic workers. Students and community supporters.

Music by the Day Laborer Band and Tom Morello from Axis of Justice.


About MIWON:
MIWON, the Multi-Ethnic Immigrant Organizing Network, is a coalition of
organizations that represent low-wage workers. The members of MIWON are
the Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance (KIWA), Garment Worker Center
(GWC), Pilipino Worker Center (PWC), Southern California
Institute for Popular Education (IDEPSCA) and the Coalition for Humane
Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA). For over 5 years, MIWON has
organized workers from different industries and ethnic backgrounds to come
together to fight for the rights for all low-wage workers.
