FORT WAINWRIGHT -- Military officials on Thursday identified a Fort Wainwright soldier killed in Iraq.

Pfc. Raymond Henry, 21, of Anaheim, Calif., died Tuesday during a routine patrol when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle in Mosul, Iraq, Maj. Kirk Gohlke said in a prepared statement.

Henry was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team.

Three other Fort Wainwright soldiers were injured in the attack but not seriously, Gohlke said.

Two were treated and returned to duty; one was evacuated to the 47th Combat Support Hospital in Iraq for treatment.

Henry was an infantryman who joined the Army in January 2005 and was assigned to Fort Wainwright in May 2005.

The names of the wounded soldiers were not immediately released.

The death was the fourth in Iraq this month for Stryker soldiers based at Fort Wainwright, Gohlke said.
