The A Shenere Velt Gallery of West Los Angeles has issued an Artists Call for its upcoming exhibit, Utopia. Artists are being asked to submit slides of up to three wall-hung works in any media (except ceramics and jewelry) that speak to the theme of "Utopia."

The A Shenere Velt Gallery of West Los Angeles has issued an Artists Call for its upcoming exhibit, Utopia. Artists are being asked to submit slides of up to three wall-hung works in any media (except ceramics and jewelry) that speak to the theme of "Utopia." The call for entries reads:

"In a world climate of pessimism and fear, dreams of earthly paradise and possibility are vital. Pieces selected for this show will reflect on the myriad imaginings of perfect worlds and the shape they might take."

Jurors for the show: Mark Greenfield - Artist and Director of the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. Alice Wexler - Writer, Scholar, and Biographer of Emma Goldman. Mark Vallen - Artist and founder of the Art For A Change web log (www.art-for-a-change.com/blog). The due date for entry forms is September 1st, 2006, and the exhibit will run from November 5th to December 29th, 2006. Digital submissions will be accepted. Video art may be submitted.
