Gasoline prices and profits are soaring to all new heights throughout California and Stewart Alexander says Governor Schwarzenegger must take immediate action to save the wallets of Californians.

Within the past few days gasoline prices have been rising at the rate of 10 to 20 cents a day in many areas of California and as much as .40 per gallon; and it appears that the oil companies have declared open season on Californians.
Governor Schwarzenegger and state legislators have remained at ring side while consumers are getting hit hard during the early days of Spring.
There is no shortage of supplies and production levels are keeping pace with consumer demands; however, again, the oil giants are on pace to shatter records before early Summer.
The high cost of gasoline is mostly affecting working class people that are finding it more difficult daily just to afford the commute to and from work. Many families are spending more than 0 monthly on gasoline cost, affecting other household expenses such as house payments, utilities and other necessary expenditures.
Stewart Alexander, Candidate for California Lieutenant Governor, is recommending various steps to deal with the gasoline crises, and he says it is necessary for the governor to take action immediately.
Alexander says Governor Schwarzenegger needs to declare a State of Emergency and start developing an emergency plan of action to deal with out of control gasoline prices.
Secondly, he says the governor needs to index the maximum cost of 89 and 91 octane to the cost of the national averages.
Third, the California State Legislators need to conduct hearing on the rising cost of gasoline and get some answers from the oil industry executives. State efforts to control prices need to be coordinated with federal efforts.
Forth, the governor needs to commission a special panel to investigate gasoline price gauging and exploitation on California consumers.
Alexander would recommend State Attorney General Bill Lockyer investigate any potential over pricing by oil companies that may indicate a systematic process of exploitation and the potential violation of federal laws.
Finally, Alexander is asking Governor Schwarzenegger to take immediate action and place price controls on 87 octane and diesel and reduce the price on these two grades to .25 per gallon.
Working people need 87 octane for their basic commutes in California; and the cost of diesel is severely affecting trucking expenses and is creating price increases for many other products.
