Are you or a friend(s) into filmmaking, and have finished or are in the process of making a film? Do you/they self-identify as a queer person of color?

Call For Submissions for the 2006 Philadelphia Queer People of Color Film Series

Rogue Collective is seeking film submissions from queer-identified people of color (i.e. members of the LGBTQ and intersex communities) for a film series that aspires to highlight the experiences and struggles of our marginalized and often underrepresented communities.

Our aim is to engage the greater public in meaningful discourse on race, sexuality and gender in media; to supplant false popularized conceptions (e.g. being portrayed as “exotic”, “hypersexual”, “nonsexual”, and “junglistic”) sustained by and created for commercial interests; and to recognize achievements by QPOC in filmmaking.

We welcome all works inspirational, thought-provoking and celebratory!
Everyone is encouraged to apply, regardless of age, experience, or previous accreditation.

For more information and/or submission inquiries, please send an email to rogue_collective@yahoo.com

Films must be submitted by May 20, 2006.

Location: The Rotunda (4012 Walnut St. Philadelphia, PA 19104)
Dates: July 8-9 2006
Time: TBA

We fully appreciate your participation...see you at the movies!
